Having successfully completed Stage 1A of the Waitsia Gas Project, AWE together with its joint venture partner Origin Energy Developments Pty Ltd, intended to progress the development of the Waitsia Gas Project through to Stage 2. The Stage 2 development would cover the construction of a new natural gas processing facility, the Waitsia Gas Plant (WGP), with a nameplate nominal capacity of 100 TJ/d. This would provide conditioning of raw gas to sales gas quality prior to export to both the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) and the Parmelia Gas Pipeline (PGP). The development also covered the construction of a raw gas gathering system network to supply raw gas to the WGP.
As part of the Pre-FEED for Stage 2 of the Waitsia Gas Plant development, OGS was engaged by the AWE Project Execution Team to perform an independent Operability, Reliability and Maintainability Assessment to evaluate process configuration, operational and maintenance philosophies, redundancy/sparing philosophy and overall reliability, availability and maintainability aspects. The assessment report recommended proposed actions and areas for further consideration as the project design progresses. OGS was also retained to develop high-level Operation & Maintenance philosophy and Integrity & Reliability philosophy documents.
