Inpex acquired the petroleum exploration permits for the Ichthys project, located within the Browse Basin off North-Western Australia, in 1998. In 2000 and 2001, three wells were drilled for exploration, resulting in the discovery of the immensely promising gas and condensate field- Ichthys.

Following on from Final Investment Decision (FID) in January 2012 OGS has supported the project at varying locations (Australia & Singapore), in varying capacity including installations, Hazardous Area Inspections and Factory Acceptance Tests & Inspections.
